The State Arboretum of Virginia

The Arboretum, located on Rt. 50 in the Shenandoah Valley, just west of Middleburg, Upperville and Paris, offers guided tours for groups of 10 or more by appointment. Many visitors come to explore the extensive grounds, open daily, year-round, from dawn to dusk. School programs are available during the academic year. Annual events include the Garden Fair Plant Sale, Mother’s Day Weekend Arborfest (2^nd Sunday October), and Holiday Workshops in November and December.

The Arboretum includes a circular driving route through stands of native and exotic trees, walking paths, the historic Quarters building, raised herb garden, and thousands of species of flora that offer splendid visions according to the seasons. Picnic tables, books and gifts in “Our Shop” and free guided tours the first Saturday of each month – March through November.
